Power outage, Victoria Day

Studio is open – no power

Sunday May 22 10 am. At this point we’re still without power, but the studio is open.

The phones are not working and we don’t have internet access.

Yesterday we were also without power and we had perfectly fine two parties and quite a few painters. Todays parties are still on, no interruption expected. Thank you for your understanding.

Open Victoria Day

We’re open Monday May 23, Victoria Day from 11 am to 5 pm

Easter weekend

We do more than ceramics painting!

Come on in to try ceramics painting, clay wheel throwing and hand building, glass fusing, wooden signs or glow in the dark painting – please see the menu above for more information about each activity. Reservation required for clay wheel throwing

No masks

Returning to normal – masks not required

The mask mandates are lifted and we’re happy to no longer require masks when inside the studio. Masks are part of every day life now, so you’re welcome to continue to wear them in the studio if you prefer. As a courtesy, the staff will wear masks for another 14 days until April 4.

The masks served their purpose together with the vaccines (Thanks Markham for a record high vaccination rate!) and the situation has returned to normal here in Ontario. Much of the rest of the world isn’t so lucky, and just like the weather, the covid situation can and will change, we just have to dress accordingly. If it gets cold we put on a coat, if a new variant emerges we put the masks back on.

Repeat visit discount

If you came in to paint during March Break, please come back in to enjoy 10% repeat visit discount until Sunday April 3, that’s right! 10% discount on ceramics if you’ve painted during March Break. You must bring the receipt or pickup slip.

March Break

March Break Madness

is here and we’re just as excited as all the kids! We can’t wait to see everyone again, having a great time at Crafty Pots, for the first March Break since 2019! We have a huge selection, the biggest in the GTA by far and great prices. Drop in anytime, no reservation needed.

During March Break (Monday to Friday):
• We’ll open at 9 am so you get more out of your day!
• You get the Early Bird 10% discount on ceramics when you arrive before 10 am.
• Starting Thursday and ending Sunday there will be a repeat visit discount of 10% on the ceramics if you’ve already painted between Sat Mar 12 and Wed Mar 16.
• You’ll meet someone very special in the studio, Dia, our beloved manager from the Color Me Mine days is now back with a very special surprise!
• You’ll get a coupon for $2 off icecream at the Cats Meow Cafe on Robinson Street. This time we can’t hand out cookies like we did in the past because of the masks, but please enjoy some great icecream at the Cafe instead.

Discounts cannot be combined and repeat visit discount can’t be claimed the same day. Other restrictions may apply, please ask in the studio.
During March Break we unfortunately cannot offer glass fusing or board art due to space constraints. Pottery wheel throwing is also not possible, sorry.

Lots of activities to do outside of March Break!

We’d love to offer all of our activities during March Break, but we’re short staffed and do not expect to be able to offer beginner pottery wheel throwing, or beginner glass fusing. If you’re experienced with either, please call to reserve.

Outside of March Break come on in to try ceramics painting, clay wheel throwing and hand building, glass fusing, wooden signs or glow in the dark painting – please see the menu above for more information about each activity. Reservation required for clay wheel throwing

January lockdown

Paint at home only, no in studio painting sorry

We’re obeying the new rules and won’t be doing in-studio painting until they are lifted. The studio will still be open for pickup of online orders or finished items and for browsing the shelves for paint at home activities.

Art studios like ours fall under both “indoor entertainment” and “places that provide in-person teaching”, both of which must be closed. The Markham by-law office has confirmed it is not permitted to offer in-studio painting.

Other local studios that currently choose to defy the rules to earn a little extra money are in violation of the rules. We think their attitude is regrettable.

Reservation is possible, but not required

As a new thing you can now make reservations, but walk-ins are always welcome. A reservation doesn’t mean that a specific table will be kept empty and waiting for you, but it means that if no table is available, you’ll get the next table that opens over anyone else that may be waiting.
